草坪 的英文怎麼說?

有些人以為草地的英文是 grassland，事實上用 grass 就行了，如:

躺在草地上看雲 = lie on the grass and watch the sky

lawn = 草坪，也就是一片短草的草地，例如:

the lawn in front of our house.

任何的短草的草地都能用 lawn，例如:

the lawn at the University of California, Santa Barbara, facing north.

使用 lawn 的情況裡，通常不能被 grass 代替。
