這是標準的英文文法,"his having stolen the car"變成一個名詞。但很多外國人會用 him 代替his,雖然有點不對,但用到後來也很普遍了。

Michael Wen There was no evidence which was that he had stolen the car. (1)=There was no evidence that he had stolen the car. (2)=There was no evidence of his having stolen the car. (3)The prepositional phrase “of his having stolen the car” in sentence (3) results from the reduction of the appositive clause “that he had stolen the car” in sentence (2) resulting from the omission of “which was” from the relative clause “which was that he had stolen the car” in sentence (1) to make the meaning clear and concise.

Charles Wang Great insight. (1) is less common than (2) and (3). Thanks for your elaborate comment!
